At Heroku, more than half our team works remotely from home offices, cafes, and co-working spaces. Heroku’s Engineering Chief of Staff, Francis Lacoste, says that remote communication requires that we learn to listen, ask questions from a place of curiosity, and work on recognising our biases and assumptions. Here are four tips from the Heroku team on how to make distributed work effective, fulfilling, and fun, and working from home work effective and fun.
